Violins of Hope is a collection of restored musical instruments that were played by Jewish musicians in concentration camps during the Holocaust. About the Event
The East Bay Holocaust Education Center is honored to host the Violins of Hope as it returns to Livermore and the East Bay on its world tour for concerts, exhibits, talks, and school visits during October and November 2026. Meet and speak with Avshi Weinstein, co-founder of the Violins of Hope program for an evening describing this amazing program and hear stories of several of the people who owned these instruments whcih will be on display at the Bankhead Theatre in from October 13 to November 5, 2026. These instruments have survived concentration camps, ghettos, pogroms, and many long journeys to tell remarkable stories of injustice, suffering, resilience and survival. Join us for a rare opportunity to see some of these instruments in person.
